Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album it was an attempt to return to the traditional sextet style, and a more consistent, stronger effort with a harder edge. The more edgy sound of the album was a reflection of the maturation of the group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's improved virtuosity on drums, and a more mature, confident vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. After touring to promote their album, the band recorded their Amsterdam live concert which was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial flop and the vocalist Williams was suffering from a severe laryngitis condition which limited his singing capabilities. In addition, Hungate returned to Nashville, while drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.
