Item Upgrading: What s The Only Thing Nobody Is Talking About

From WikiHikmah

World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For example an item with the upgrade template ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must be at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of an armored weapon or. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly, and there is a substantial possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break when it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item upgrader kit. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that can increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within a radius around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.

In the endgame you'll find that the Best item upgrade way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and offer a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in strategic places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but you should also consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to reach, and the upgrade items costs increase as the item gets upgraded.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same type. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This can be a downside, as the item can be more expensive even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades (morphomics.science) can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial however it shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or does not swim as dolphins). The item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very important in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The item upgrader allows players to increase the level of their equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and armor) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the base defense of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can result in the item returning to its original condition and the player having to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned, such as crit chance attack damage, additional effects (such as increased heal over time, or reloading speed). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is computed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For instance they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to take every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the expenses mentioned above.
