If You ve Just Purchased Item Upgrade ... Now What

From WikiHikmah

WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade item increases the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also added to every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item level upgrade (ai-db.science) and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Upgraders for items can be found in many places including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. Once the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item upgrader mod level, will cost less. This is even if the items come from an entirely different set of gear.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item upgrading level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests can only be used to purchase equipment that is of a particular rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests depending on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests only have one use, so it's important to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
