How To Outsmart Your Boss With Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.
For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue before a component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the item level upgrade to the upgrade (for instance 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using less upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using standard methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.
The player can get up to five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure what will be improved following a reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it's possible that the item will be obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, and a few upgrades that give the benefit of being reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes within the area around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.
It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the most effective way to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the many Glyphs, and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is best to put Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to improve the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with an amount, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components and the costs for upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.
Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to leveling up an item upgrade. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When an individual player upgrade a piece of equipment, the base item is replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will get an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item upgrader could be more expensive even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrader kit upgrades. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it shouldn't be performed frequently, since it can waste a lot of resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is very useful in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of the non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate currency and items to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to revert back to its original state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any gained bonuses, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. The player will still need to carry every piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the cost listed above.
