Five Things Everyone Makes Up About Item Upgrade

From WikiHikmah

WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade item boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new gear. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item upgrades upgraders in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will display an item's preview at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. After an item level upgrade has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrades upgrader at beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain level of an item level upgrade for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will be less expensive, even in the event that they belong to another set of gear.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be spent on equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade items route costs 15 crests while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. It's best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
