Components

An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment with which it is used (for examplefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using fewer Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear, even in the event that they don't know what can be improved upon a reset.
