Item upgrades are a common and crucial method to enhance the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can provide extra damage, AD or even affixes.

Sometimes, however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade gear because of their requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be applied to weapons and armor items. They increase the performance of the item they are connected to. However, it's important to keep in mind that this will increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than before.

There are a variety of armor upgrade available in the game. Each one has a distinct effect. For instance, certain upgrades will give the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade the item level upgrade can be given, as illustrated below.

Trinkets
