World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may raise an Best item upgrader's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its stats increase in value. This is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the fact that many perks must be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

Item level is a popular measurement of power and is visible on all item tooltips. It also serves to determine a gating condition when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is limited to an lower level). The average level of an item can be found in the character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell gear players can evaluate the item level. It's a useful gauge of an item's worth and the amount of damage it is capable of causing. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller is possible using the item level.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, including its ilvl. It can also be located by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about how the calculation of the item's level is done. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated by formulas that determine how valuable an item's stats really are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth and gems in sockets increase the item's overall value. This could result in a calculated item's ilvl that is often very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this is not the only factor that can affect an item's ilvl because the level of the area the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, for instance by adding an amount to its crit rating or haste rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

item upgrade stats can make or break an item for players. The game utilizes them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon and to motivate players to explore other weapons. The base stats of a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods which are then boosted by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, can only be upgraded one time, while an item with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times at higher costs.

Another method of altering the stats of an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or other special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by adding a name.

Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circles arrows. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other options for rerolling.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the level of the item, but every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the range, unless it is a unique item upgrader mod or a God roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to roll the affixes, or choose which stats to boost. As with the base equipment, it must be done per item and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the likelihood of locating items as well as the properties generated by loot, and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is especially beneficial in the early game, since players tend to prioritize the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability, which increases with each item level and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant a further +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of the item up to 140.

Furthermore there are certain items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be found in the shops or made with the right ingredients.

item upgrading Failure

Upgrades to items can be a costly process and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%..

The performance of an upgrade is also affected by the luck of that item. All items have an overall success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases this chance by 5percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects may be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
