Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item upgrader mod, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas objects with strong bases, such as eth titans do not vary much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests or missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

In order to upgrade an item of armor, the player must select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade statistics and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of item names. For instance the addition of the suffix Glyph could transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, excluding inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from the previous versions. Gear is now categorised in tracks, and each item is able to be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level however the materials required don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the impact of those items, instead of dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

When an item is completed and is leveled out, it will be able to receive a new set of upgrade components, as well as an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it will be able to receive affixes that will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base type. For instance an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will have only two affixes for it, while legendary armors can have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade requires an amount of Flightstones and crests depending on the current level of the item and the item slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the choice to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material. However, it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers will employ a level to compare the height of the building against a known point, like a benchmark. This method is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level before turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that the buildings are constructed with an extremely high degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can significantly improve an item upgrade's strength and damage as well as other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the item upgrader mod menu or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be done in the rarest of circumstances.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items have a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them easier to roll. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more often than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for each stat. This could be a positive or bad thing depending on your requirements and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also come with a bonus that boosts the power of the item by a specific percentage or flat value. These bonuses are rolled in addition to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher the chance of receiving the bonus of your choice.

The game also comes with several sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on the same unit. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a character without spending lots of money.

Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can help you get a more powerful character quicker, which enables players to advance in the game and reach higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized in different ways. They could be of various sizes, contain none of the elements, or contain a single element. They can be used for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways such as size and shape.

There are a range of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, while some are not. Sets of armor that offer the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not boost the quality of the item's stats when compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already huge.

Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs that can be useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to parity with their counterparts in their tiers. For example the Immortal King set has a large level range, from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the Best item upgrade as well as the items required to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements of specific items.

Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. It will also boost the defense value of armor that has a newer appearance.
