Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
The upgrade of gear can increase its base stats and sometimes increases its other features. The value of these upgrades is determined by the tiers of gear, their requirements and how many random augmentations are applied.
The elite racial Shield Razortail For instance, it is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorption capabilities in PvP, and/or to provide additional defenses to missile-based designs in the PvM. This makes it more exchangeable over the unupgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens allow you to roll a purchased item like armor, weapon, or ring. This replaces the item with another item upgrader kit of the same type, but with different benefits. Reroll tokens are an efficient method of upgrading equipment. They don't keep the original item's level, and any resources wasted won't get compensated.
The survivors can acquire reroll tokens through several means such as the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be found in crates and chests or buy them at the market for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to change the attributes of a piece of equipment for example, increasing its damage or granting it a brand new stat.
Players can roll their equipment in three categories: physical power, magic power, and health. Upgrades to physical power can increase damage from weapons and melee attack, while upgrades to spell power boost mage attacks and the ring. Health upgrades give players additional health.
There are three kinds of Reroll tokens: upgrade rare, and legendary. Each of these upgrades the item to a higher quality. To produce them, you need a higher level token for rerolling. Enhanced upgrades require a common item, rare upgrades require a special or legendary item and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.
As opposed to other tokens or markers that are placed on Action spaces the reroll marker stays in the space until the next Success result is repeated. This allows you to ensure that upgrades are not wasted.
Blueprints appear as envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Phase and can be opened by grabbing them using Interact. When they are opened they show a complete description and icon of the relevant appliance or ingredient. The restaurant's shop can swap blueprints for a new appliance or ingredient for an amount of money.
During a run, blueprints can be moved between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool as a result of chosen Franchise Cards. This changes the blueprints that the restaurant's shop can offer for rerolls, and those that are in the non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
Weapons, armor, and accessories can be upgraded in Throne and Liberty using Growth Stones. These stones are special stones which increase the level of an item by increasing its stats or attributes. Players can locate these items by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs located in the main towns. They can purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants for a cost. Moreover, players can obtain these stones by completing daily contracts.
To upgrade gear players must first locate the appropriate item and then click on the "level up" button. This will display a menu that shows the item's current status and what it will be after being leveled up and the required amount of Growth Stones to accomplish this. The amount of Growth Stones required to upgrade the gear will depend on its rarity. Rare (blue), rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor only requires a single Growth Stone.
After deciding what to upgrade, players must select the number of green Growth Stones they wish to use and pay the corresponding cost. Once the player has met the requirements, he can hit the upgrade button and apply the Growth Stones. This will raise the item's level by a certain percentage. The upgrade process can last anywhere from seconds to several minutes, depending on the rarity of the item.

Players can also break down higher-level Growth Stones into multiple lower-level stones.
Leveling
Leveling is an optional feature that lets players boost the base stats of weapons armor, helms, and trinkets. The Upgrade Station lets you combine an item with upgrade materials and pay a fee in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The process will consume upgrade materials and grant the item an increased level, which gives the item a boost in that area. This process can continue until the item reaches its highest level.
Items that have upgraded base stats display an icon of blue in their slot. Contrary to enchantments upgrade components don't stack with each other, but can only be added to a single item at one time. Additionally each upgrade component will require a particular number of items to be added, as well as an initial level for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left side, players can place items to be upgraded. On the right, a preview shows what the gear will look like at its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow when is a player has enough resources will begin the upgrade item process.
A piece of equipment can be upgraded up to five times. Each time the item is upgraded, its stats will increase by a small amount. The maximum level of an item is 19.

Item upgrade components can be used to make sets and weapons for additional effects or to increase the level of the item. These upgrades can be obtained from various sources in the game, such as crafting, purchased at the Trading Post or karma vendors, looted from bosses and raids, or collected from dungeons. The upgrade of an item can boost its Mark Level and/or Rarity. Certain upgrade components have additional modifiers that can improve the item Upgrader kit's statistics.
The upgrade to the helm "Foundation of the Sun" for instance, increases defense base and gives an additional 20% chance to block. The dps "Wildfire" however increases damage to weapons.
Upgrades can be beneficial to some items, but not because they increase stats. They are more valuable for the players when they get the perfect roll. A perfect-rolled 200/6 500 armor set piece, for example is highly coveted by melee PvP communities and can be worth up to 20-50 times the value of an unupp'd counterpart.
