Guide To Item Upgrades: The Intermediate Guide Towards Item Upgrades
Path of Exile item upgrade Upgrades
item upgrader kit upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can be a fantastic source of extra damage, more AD or even more attachments.
Often times however upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade equipment due to their high requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a form of upgrade that can be used on weapons and armor items. They improve the effectiveness of the Item Upgrade they are attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. They can also be salvaged by using a professional or higher salvage kits to recover upgrades from the items.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it will absorb. A piece of armor upgraded to its highest upgrade level will increase the damage it absorbs. But, it's important to note that this will also increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than it was before.
There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game, and they all have different effects. For instance, some upgrades give the armor a certain amount of health points while others make it lighter and stronger. The kind of armor upgrade an item can get will be indicated by the name of the upgrade as shown in the table below.
Some of the upgrades also require magic or a combination of technology and magic, as identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Certain upgrades require charges in order to be used. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are continuously updated or never expire, depending on the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest way to upgrade your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive however it is obtainable through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied on armor pieces that are of high-level. These upgrades can provide significant increases in stats and are definitely worth the cost.
The process of upgrading an armor piece to max upgrade level will greatly increase its defense values however, the user must be aware that increasing its weight can drastically decrease its speed and agility. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The added defense typically isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades give players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. For instance an upgrade can improve the damage that is caused by shotgun shells or the accuracy of a sniper rifle. Certain weapons come with special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic capabilities. Frictionless materials (improves stability, and reduces the possibility of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's speed for greater damage) are two examples.
The majority of upgrades for weapons require a whetblade. It's one of three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by completing side quests or by killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.
The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade price that is based on a specific number of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade, the higher the level. The cost of upgrades will be less if you have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade weapon and equipment sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a certain amount of Bars. You could continue doing this until you reached the maximum upgrade level for the equipment or weapon, after which the upgrades would reset.
This is still possible, but it depends heavily on RNG. You're better off buying gear that has low levels of upgrade but with high base scores and stat distributions. These will have a better chance of bringing you the best tier of perks and blessings.
To increase their level faster, most players will be more inclined to upgrade their weapons. In addition players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons favored by their squadmates to increase their power and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will enhance its effectiveness when paired with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are used in the sockets of armor and weapons, increasing the stats of a weapon and providing additional effects. Jewelry crafting is a method for making them, in which you combine a gemstone with a number specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the level of the gemstone is, the greater its secondary effect. These reagents can be found around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.
The Jeweler can improve the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Based on the level of the gem it can provide different stat boosts when inserted into gear, weapons and jewelry.
The Jeweler can craft all tiers of gems, with the exception of rare and legendary ones that you must attain certain levels to gain. Jewels can be substituted with another jewel without damaging the original. You can only replace the jewel only once in a piece of equipment.
It is common to use more jewelry to enhance the appearance of. The jewels can also enhance performance and create a harder surface than steel so that repeated friction from pivots does not damage them.
A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the look of your weapons and shields. These glyphs give a slight boost and can be traded, but they are not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components like traits or aegis can't be exchanged and can only be recovered by using an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets are items of equipment that provide many small, but beneficial advantages to your hero. You can find them in the starter area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They can also be obtained through vendors and after the completion of road interactions. They can also be made by jewelers, and found or purchased from the Trading Post.
The first trinkets that a player unlocks will be the cloak, which grants a small, but valuable boost in speed of movement and evasion. After that, they'll be able to acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in the same way to how a player obtains armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment has an upgrade slot that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any equipment. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced, and can only be used with certain trinkets.
These trinkets also grant additional buffs and skills that are active whenever the hero is not in combat. This lets the hero perform better when they are not active and may also help fill in the void of a strong team or any talent tree slots that normally are filled with the hero's best stats.
A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best item upgrade-in-Slot) items that you will not replace in the near future, then any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item upgrader kit that is being upgraded. This is especially true when an item upgrading has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade, since it's generally better to upgrade just one important stat than two sub-optimal ones.
In the beginning of the game, junglers will usually want to upgrade their yellow trinket into a red one, while top and mid players typically choose either a pink or green ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices can affect a hero's ability to control the map.
In addition to the items listed above, players can also find other trinkets that form trophies and rewards throughout the game. They can be earned by completing certain milestones within the story, like finishing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. These achievements can be seen by selecting the appropriate achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
