Upgrades to gear increase its base stats and sometimes boosts its extras. The value of these upgrade is determined by the tiers of gear, their requirements and how many random augmentations are made available.

For example, the elite shield of racial violence Razortail is often upgraded to enhance its lightning absorb function in PvP or to provide additional defenses to missile-based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the perfect non-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens let you roll a purchased item like armor, weapon, or ring. The item is replaced by an identical item and comes with different bonuses. Reroll tokens are an economical method of upgrading equipment. They don't preserve the original level of the item and any money wasted aren't rewarded.

The survivors can acquire reroll tokens via a variety of methods, including from the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. You can also find them in chests and crates or purchase them from the stores for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to alter an attribute on an item for example, increasing its damage or giving it a new stat.

Players can reroll equipment in three aspects: physical power, spell power and health. Physical power upgrades increase the damage done by melee and weapons, while spell power upgrades mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with additional health.
